The third issue of the printed series of Contemporânea is now available worldwide in a bilingual edition in a bookshop near you. The present volume is dedicated to Sculpture and I had the pleasure of contributing with an anthological essay about the artistic practice of Musa paradisiaca and a shorter text about three selected works from João Maria Gusmão + Pedro Paiva. Moreover, one will find several essays about the contemporary status of sculpture within an international and national contexts, many essays on artists working with sculpture and its “expanded field” plus several original visual works by contemporary artists made specially for this number. The cover shows “Couve” / “Cabbage” (in painted tar), a sculpture by Musa paradisiaca.
