I am delighted to announce that the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Lisbon is now offering, for the first time and for the academic year 2019/2020, the “Advanced Studies Course in Curating Architecture & Design”, filling the lack of higher education in Portugal in this important and emergent practice, for which I had the pleasure of coordinating the curriculae plan.

It is a non-conferring course of academic degree that provides, through its conclusion, equivalence to curricular units of the 2nd and 3rd cycles of FA-ULisboa, according to number 1 of Article 10 of the Regulation of the Cycle of Studies Conducting the Degree of Doctor for those who wish to present a doctoral thesis.

The course aims to provide direct contact with curatorial practices in the areas of architecture & design, cultural institutions dedicated to architecture and design and their agents, thus contributing to the advanced knowledge - theoretical and practical - in the field of architecture & design curatorship and to prepare future curators who wish to work in museums, galleries, independent spaces, media and / or projects dedicated to the dissemination of architectural, material and visual culture.

The submission phase is now open and you may check the requisites and the full program here and/or here.
